About Commissioner Colbourne

Commissioner Yvette Colbourne represents all of Miramar. First elected in 2013 and served twice as Vice Mayor, Commissioner Colbourne holds a Master Degree in Public Administration and is a former County Administrator. Commissioner Colbourne, a Jamaican descendant, was born in Panama and raised in New York before moving to Florida. Commissioner Colbourne and her husband have lived in the City of Miramar for over 28 years where they raised their two children.

Work as a Commissioner

Commissioner Colbourne greatest efforts have been anchored in preserving and enhancing the quality of life for all of Miramar. Protecting our most vulnerable, our elderly and our children, advocating for small businesses, neighborhood transportation and infrastructure improvements, and advocating for the overall well-being of the entire city, “One Miramar.”
